I had the Pfizer 7 days a go, had usual headaches sorry arm, but now I have this unbelievable dizziness/lightheaded like I'm drunk! I know this is the side affects as I've never had this before! I feel like I've got a full head like when you get blocked ears on a flight.
Or I'm swaying like on a rocky boat!
I will admit I don't drink enough water, maybe I need to up that.
I'm trying my best to get on with me I feel like I'm spinning out for most of my day.
I'm single parent too and have no one to help
Look after my kids so I have to be ok ! Is my GP worth speaking to as I doubt they will agree it's vaccine related!
Has anyone else had this ? What's helped u or cured it ? Thankyou x

My mum did, not long after her Pfizer- it’s a side effect, her G.P prescribed Prochlorperazine.

My mum suffers with ear infections and has done all her life and if you are prone to them, apparently the vaccine can exacerbate the condition.

pureofmind · 23/09/2021 19:24

Thanks so much'l! @Suzi888 should I ask for that ? Did it help your mum XX

I had this recently , I'm not sure what the cause was, but anti travel sickness tablets OTC from the chemist sorted it out for me. It was meant to be interim until I got to a GP but they worked and so GP appointment was not required in the end.

HumourReplacementTherapy · 25/09/2021 12:07

Oh I see you e seen your GP now anyway Smile
Maybe it's the same active ingredient as the anti travel sick meds. Hope it works for you it's a horrible feeling.

pureofmind · 25/09/2021 12:50

@HumourReplacementTherapy how did the dizziness stay for you please? I'm on day 9 since vax x

My mum is 79, she was bed bound with the dizziness and fell three times. She found the medication helped after two/three days. She couldn’t eat or drink properly whilst she had the dizziness, so the tablets were a godsend.

Suzi888 · 25/09/2021 13:04

She was fine once the tablets kicked in. Smile It’ll take a few days, no way could she have worked with the dizziness- she couldn’t even get downstairs. You’ll definitely need some time off I’d have thought.

pureofmind · 25/09/2021 17:25

Thanks @Suzi888 I just thought the tablets are for symptom relief and not to actually cure the issue.
Is your mum still
On them? Thanks again xx

This is interesting. Can it be a long term effect of Pfizer? I have had labyrinthitis/vertigo for about 6/7 weeks now. Had my second jab in July, so it's not immediate, but it's not something I've ever suffered with before and it's horrendous.

Haven't managed to actually see a GP. Have had various antihistamines prescribed which haven't really done much.

pureofmind · 26/09/2021 08:14

I don't know @MimsyBorogroves but there's lots of people on vestibular.org/forum/dizziness/

I feel also my anxiety has made it worse try and see a doctor if you can there is help x

Now been admitted to hospital for the dizziness, head pressure & headaches now. Went to gp after a bad wknd and he wasn't happy and said he doesn't think it's ear infection thinks it's an infection in my body maybe ?

Not sure why and doesn't think it's vaccine related but may need a head scan ? He said he think it's labrynthitis but wants to take precaution. Waiting on blood results and doctors.

Just seen your update @pureofmind
Sorry to hear you had to go to hospital
How are you?

Suzi888 · 12/10/2021 01:22

She only takes them when necessary OP. She does suffer badly with ear infections, but usually just suffers pain.
Her GP has said the dizziness could be a side effect of her covid vaccine, she has the Pfizer. She’s just had her booster jab and now has terrible ear pain/ deafness etc. No dizziness yet!

Suzi888 · 12/10/2021 01:24

Sorry to hear you need all those tests OP, hope they get to the bottom of itFlowers. Hope it’s something simple.
I had mastoiditis a few years ago, felt sick, dizzy and awful ear ache!

LemonSwan · 12/10/2021 02:06

I would test your blood pressure - espeically as you said you dont drink enough.

Some people are getting POTS as a long covid problem - so I dont see why it might not happen after the vaccine as autoimmune. And I have heard a lot of people complaining about dizziness.

So if its worse in the morning or after standing up/ changing direction this may be it.

Some are saying salt in fruit juice next to bed for next morning, and eat a packet of hula hoops before you get up is helpful.

Basically salt salt and more salt, alongside a shit load of water.

pureofmind · 12/10/2021 05:48

Thanks all for replies! I'm getting better ❤️‍🩹 v v slowly one day at stone the dizziness is subsiding, and head pressure. I do have a hard time focusing with my left eye on things which after test they said eyes are fine but the focusing or blurred vision could be due to side affect. I have had to go back to work as I was on sick pay n I work on a laptop all day my boss expects me to deal with customers accounts but I can't even see the screen properly ! Am
At a bit of a loss ! My anxiety makes this illness really bad so I'm working on that everyday too xx hope everyone is well x
