Depo experiences?

I’ve been on the depo since Feb this year. No bleeding and completely fine otherwise, and then middle of August I had my third shot. 2 days later I got really strong abdominal pains, which continued and I still have them. I called the doctor the next week and she said that’s not normal with depo (??) and that I need to come in to be checked. She looked at my cervix said she thinks I have chlamydia and told me to get checked for stis. I had Sti check and all was clear and I also had ultrasound and internal one. That also came back clear.

I’ve experienced spotting like brown bleeding that’s gradually faded the past week but have had the worst leg and back ache accompanying my stomach pains. I’ve been referred to gynae for possible c word check on Monday so I’m actually terrified but I’m starting to think maybe this is depo related?

Could you please share experiences or any experiences of people you know? As I’m very scared and mentally trying to eliminate the c word

Were you just tested for Chlamydia or other STDs too?

That's good. When was your last smear? It could be your body getting used to the depo but I can't remember having stomach pains on the depo myself. It's good they are referring you, try not to worry as it could be a number of things. have you been on time for all your shots?

@nolovelost thanks for getting back to me! I’m 23 so no smears as they wont let me before 25. I did have the hpv vaccine in school if that helps. My last depo shot was 13th August and pain began like 3 days later I believe??

Try not to worry, they're probably just referring you to put your mind at rest. Monday will be here before you know it.
