Have been referred to breast clinic

Had lunch with a business acquaintance who has just had breast cancer she has now finished her treatment and is feeling very positive plus a couple of my friends have had breast cancer and have come through the other end.

I have been a bit worried about my lumpy breasts - there seemed more lumpiness in one rather than the othere and so seeing my friend last week prompted me to visit my GP on Monday. She thought that there was something thickening but no actual discrete lumps more the usual tubular structure of the breast but has referred me as a precaution.

My appt has come through v quickly because of my age (40s) and family history (aunt died of bc in her 60s).

Initially I thought well OK best to check which of course it is but now am getting a bit worried.

Anyone else gone to breast clinic with these types of symptoms.

I agree that they probably should lower the age for mammograms to 40s.

Either way I have to face it of course but this just tops off a rather horrendous year for me.
