I'm getting desperate. Never had bowel trouble before I was pregnant except sometimes diarrhoea when I had my period and some trapped wind/bloating if I ate white bread.

Since having my baby I've been so constipated (never been right since having the section TBH) I've now got a pile and an anal fissure [wince emoticon] and the doctor's given me lactulose in the hope that I'll be able to poo without the associated weeping and white knuckles.

Lactulose doesn't seem to make arse all difference despite me drinking gallons, living on wholegrain everything and walking more and more. I probably don't eat more than my 5 bits of fruit and veg a day but I have tons of pulses and beans in my diet (at least 3-4 times a week). DH is going to get me some Fibresure to try (I like the look of the floaty water ladies on the advert) - just wondered if anyone has had much success with it? Can't fact the prospect of shitting like a rabbit forever more, and with blood! [wail]
