Sore throat and spots on the ankles/lower leg

Has anyone come across these symptoms - my dd has a sore throat/loss of voice since Friday, and last night complained of mild ankle pain with red raised spots. The spots have now spread further up the leg.

Any ideas?

Any other symptoms hotflush? Are her ankles or wrists swollen? Are the spots more like splodges or are they defined spots? Or maybe none of the above and hopefully she's all better by the time you read this

Rash is definately spreading and itching now.I have just read a thread on random rashes and think it could be the same (PR)
We're off to the docs tomorrow.

Been to the docs and then spent 4 hours in A&E on referral.

It seems she has HSP (Henoch-schonlein purpura) but fortunately without any of the horrible stuff that goes with it. Could take up to 6 weeks to clear up with regular clinic appointments during that time.

That was my immediate worry. My heart goes out to you and I hope to god she doesn't get all the horrible stuff that goes with it. My dd age 5 got it in March and had a really terrible time - I've posted re this before. It took a few months before she could walk and talk properly again and still has kidney problems. Just to say good luck, hope it goes pretty soon without a hitch.
