Getting skin tags etc removed- private?

I'm aware GPs don't do this any more; but, does anyone have any experience of going private? As in- I'm almost 60, my skin is now sprouting (non-cancerous) growths, warts, moles, etc.

How do you get rid of them? Enlist a private dermatologist, pay £400 (guess) and get them sorted?

I paid a gp who set up a private dermatology practice on the side to remove about 5 skin tags, wasn't anymore than £150/200 iirc.

It was near Oxford, pre COVID so don't know if there still operating.

My gp still freezes warts off my back etc. I’m in Scotland though.

If yours could even examine them and say they are just warts then you could freeze them off yourself with foot wart freezing stuff.

That’s what mine uses in my back.

My other gp used to use liquid nitrogen. Guess this new stuff is cheaper. If you can’t reach ask a pal or partner.

But you do need to know they are just warts first in case it’s anything bad that needs further attention.

I had one on my neck and successfully got rid of it with Cyrotag which you can buy in boots. Mine was size of rice krispie

I had a couple after my last pregnancy. You don't need to pay £££ to get someone to do it for you, this worked really well for me. I was sceptical, but gave it a go and it took about 5 days but it worked!
