Breast clinic appointment

I have been referred to the breast clinic by my GP as she feels I need an ultrasound. Does anyone know if they will do a thorough scan/examination of both breasts at my appointment or will they will scan the area of concern?

Thanks you!

That should say will they just scan the area of concern!

Hello, they will scan both, and probably do a mammogram as well.
The one I went to the staff were really thorough and kind. Took 4 hours… take snacks! Yours may take less. Good luck.

I had ultrasound & mammogram of both breasts followed by an ultrasound guided biopsy of the problem area plus adjacent lymph node.

First stop was with a doctor for a rather robust physical exam. From there I went up to mammogram (both breasts), ultrasound (area of concern) and, unfortunately, biopsy (area of concern). If there is nothing requiring ultrasound they will come out and tell you its ok to leave.

I had both breasts checked by the consultant by hand. He drew a circle round the area of concern and then I went through to be scanned where they only scanned over the area of concern

Ah thank you all I feel so much better knowing that they’ll do a thorough examination of both breasts one way or another. I was worried they’d just make me point at the lump and they’d scan it and possibly miss something else!
