Just a moan about Ds being sick! Arghhh

...all over MY bed, (who said co sleeping was a good idea!) and then again every half hour or less, for the last 2 hours. I am tired, have nowhere to sleep, Ds2 is in his pram now and we are watching some shockingly bad video called the Little Vampire which he likes.

I foresee this going on for hours and hours...and trying to keep 'good hygiene' when he is a four year old boy, well have you every tried that?!

so we will probably all be getting it...I am phobic about being sick, which does not help.

Anyone else?

aw. and to make matters worse, everyone on mn appears to be asleep!

yes, ds3 is doing some odd waking up every five minutes thing atm... no sick so far but i dont know whats causing him to keep snapping awake in distress when hes obviously knackered coz he falls back to sleep v quickly... but only if i hold his hand and stroke his face

hes also dribbling like niagara falls so i guess he could be teething. cant feel anything tho in his gums. and i gave him medised at bedtime - doesnt he know its against the rules to wake up when hes been medicated?!

hes settled now tho. with dp, in our bed

sorry to warple on about me and mine - was an attempt to sympathise

Oh Lagore, thankyou for being around!!! I was starting to feel rather lonely!

He says his tummy hurts badly, but I have not detected a temp as yet, hoping it isn't appendicitis or something?

How old is Ds3? I have a teether at the mo as well heaps of fun isn't it?!

Are you awake on purpose? I'm usually gone by 8pm these days. But I'm not normal.

and bless you for calling me lagore! (am toying with it for permanent namechange lol)

if he as no temp and a sore tum, it could well be something as simple as wind, no? mind you, if hes puking... dunno.

ds3 is nearly 23m... but has been v slow to get teeth. he has, i dunno, about 12 now but im sure theres more to get. cant remember whn the others did (which is mildly rubbish as they are only 3 and 4 now lol)

im awake now coz its the only time today that ive had peace and quiet and im savouring it!

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 04/12/2007 01:36

Oh poor mite, I remember now the endless 'teething phase' which seems to go on forever! Ds2 is only 6 months and just beginning I think. I can remember very little from my first one, I think that is fairly normal having read similar from others on MN! You just forget everything till it jumps upand bites you on the bum with the next child!
Ds1 still throwing up even though there's nothing there to come up. Lots of dry heaving, which sounds quite bad. I'm getting him to drink water to flush it out, some nasty germ I think. His little friend at school had similar last week.

Hope you enjoy your mumsnetting tonight, I can relate to the peace and quiet thing, only mine tends to be at the 5am end of it!!! (usually)..

Thanks again x

not at all - imglad youre here to chat too

the dry heaving is awful to listen to isnt it? they just seem to manifest the lightest bug so much more violently sometimes dont they? poor wee thing. lots of cuddles really is about all you can do, generally. i find anyway.

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 04/12/2007 03:43

Are you still about? Anyone?
He's still at it. Every 20 minutes or so. Nothing at all to come up, and when something does he won't lean over the bowl, just goes back down again I think...
He's half asleep and very pale, not feverish, which is good.
Just this continual being sick.
At least Ds2 is asleep...I feel pretty sick myself with all this going on!
Never seen Ds1 so ill like this really. Usually it's a one-off or a couple of bouts and he's done, never an all nighter. Must be a vicious bug

he says his tummy hurts, I am hoping this is just a symptom of the bug so to speak.

I am sooooo tired!

Oh TFA - sounds horrible. Hope sickness has stopped now and you manage to get some sleep.

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 04/12/2007 08:32

Hi Budaful, boy is asleep finally. It took it out of him, hoping a day or two and he'll be right...the worst must surely be over! I was thrown into an emetophobic frazzle but have survived, just, without joining in myself!
Thankyou for your kind thought. I think everyone's child has this at the moment.

Am very relieved that DS isn't a vomiter. Has only been sick 2 or 3 times in 6 years.

Hope your DS is on the mend when he wakes up.

I have DS home from school again today with a really snotty cold. Is fine in himself just very snotty. And he persists in doing the weakest nose-blows imaginable - prefers to sniff which makes me heave!

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 04/12/2007 08:58

yes I'm with you on the sniffing, ewwwww! Boys are just made that way I think! Hope he is well again soon x

Hi Twinkly, I really undertstand how you are feeling. Sickness bugs are just about the worse thing to cope with. My DS 4 had sickness bug on Sunday. It was absolutely awful. Fortunately he's only had two sickness bugs in 4 years. I have a morbid fear of sick and it is about the only thing on this earth that turns me into a quivering wreck. So much so I've barely eaten since Sunday.
I've managed two horrendous labours one without any pain relief and another which ended in a 4 month bout of CDiff and I didn't compain once. Tummy bugs however....

Hope you get some rest today.

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 04/12/2007 09:15

Thanks funnybunny! We are two of a kind methinks

Might try to eat brekky as I know I will feel worse if I don't. A poppy seed cracker is looking at me from the desk as we speak. It may be all I can manage...

Actually if he throws up again I might lock myself under the stairs till it's all over.

at your Cdiff though! That sounds horrifying, glad you are Ok now. x

HeyThereNappiesGalore · 04/12/2007 09:22

aw flighty, that emetophobic thing must be a real bugger when you have kids. ouch.

and you must be shattered! have you had any sleep at all?

puffling · 04/12/2007 10:57

DD also sicked up in the night. She's been teething a lot, but also she could have a bug or eaten something funny, who knows.
What's ok to feed her? Would banana be ok, or beans on toast?

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 05/12/2007 04:06

Yeurggggh. Have both had it. Was offline all yesterday! Boy is much better, I am still weak and frail but on the mend.
I hate being ill. Hope you are all Ok, how is Ds3 Lagore? Was it just teeth? (just teeth ha ha!)
Puffling, try her with a little tiny bit of something. Bananas are good, hope she is Ok now x
