why do I seem to sweat MORE after taking paracetamol for a cold?

I have a temperature, I dn't know what because I don't have a thermometer, but I feel all dry and shivery - until I take paracetamol, which makes me all sweaty! Why? I would expect, as my temperature comes down, the opposite!

Paracetamol does make you sweat, I think it's the sweating that makes your temperature drop. TBH it's not the best thing for a temperature, I find ibuprofen works better.

Your body sweats in order to bring your temp down - think hot countries, exercise etc. So as paracetamol lowers your body temp, you will sweat! Make sure you drink lots of fluids!

is that why you are told to drink fluids?

I have NO APPETITE!!!!!

(I am usually one of those people who gets told off by doctors for turning a 24 hour sick bug into near-dysentry by refusing to stop eating)
