Insomnia meds

Does anyone use over the counter insomnia meds and if so how often do you take them.
The pharmacist has sold me SleepEase and I've taken about 5 times over the last 3 weeks. But I need them more often. Any advice?
Going through a particularly rough patch at the moment due to family issues in the great job above me

I use lemon balm, the herb. Check contraindications online but they are few. I have a large bush of it but health food shops sell it.

Also antihistamine eg Piriton

Sleep ease is essentially an antihistamine. How often do you take your Piritin?
