Colonoscopy now booked in for MRI

My son (27) had a colonoscopy 10 days ago because of discomfort and blood when pooping. Several polyps were found plus 'something else' that was not a polyp. He has now had a letter to go for an MRI.

Can anyone put my mind at rest, please?

You can rest assured that your son is getting appropriate care for his situation.

I know that is not the reassurance you are asking for. Sorry but No one can give you that til he has his results

serialname - thank you.

I know deep down he is getting the best care, I'm hoping that maybe anyone who works in this field can give me a bit more insight as to possible outcomes.

I just feel a bit sick really, and scared.

It is literally pointless asking people to second guess the outcome. I understand why you want that but it will do you no good. The MRI will be to gather more information on what that “something else” is, and where it is and what to do about it.

It’s going to be hard waiting for the result, so keep busy and try not to give in to panic. Flowers

@Cheddarcheeseandsodabread sorry I have no advice but just wanted to offer a hand hold, I know how worrying it can be.

I was in a similar situation recently and I was so worried. I had an MRI and waited about 3 weeks for results and, although something was found, it's nothing serious, but what an awful time it was waiting for the whole thing.
Does your son have a date for his MRI.

MissyB1 - I know it is silly trying to 2nd guess. Human nature I guess, I will take your advice and keep busy as much as possible.

whichone343 Thank you. That must have been awful for you. And I am so very glad that all has worked out well for you. I will speak to my son when he finishes work. All I know is he said 'next Thursday', I don't think he meant this week.
