Ds just fell out of his cot...

oh crap, ds has just somehow managed to fall out of his cot , I went in to get him and as I was checking him over he threw up! Am now unsure whether or not to ring NHS Direct, I know the signs for concussion (and am not sure he banged his head at all tbh), and think they will just tell me to take him to A&E to be on the safe side! He's sitting really quietly and looks really pale, any thoughts anyone?

phone NHS direct. better to be safe blah blah blah.

That you should take him to a&e. He's been sick, is pale and quiet - all signs of concussion surely?

belgo · 03/12/2007 17:08

did you see him fall? if not, you don't know if he's bumped his head or not.

I've been in this situation, and I took dd1 to hospital. She was fine, but I found it important to get her checked.

You're all right of course! I'll give NHS Direct a call, I don't have the car so don't have any way of getting to the hospital, would have to wait for dh to get home.

dd fell out of hers on fri night. if she had been sick and was sitting like your ds, i would have taken her straight to a&e.

mamalocco · 03/12/2007 18:09

This happened to my friend a few weeks ago and NHS direct called an ambulance for her ds - will probably do the same for you.

Thanks everyone, I really don't know why I dithered about this

Spoke to NHS Direct & they advised me to take him to A&E and my very nice neighbour gave me a lift. Anyway, ds is ok, just need to keep an eye on him.

glad he's ok - keep an eye on him during the night - I slept in with dd1 when she fell out of the cot and regularly checked her

I will do, thanks belgo
