Do check your mattress doesnt need turning first.

I would suggest your husband do the following and see GP first.
Make a note of which actions which cause the pain to worsen.
Is it painful all day and night or worse in the morning?
Does standing ease the pain or sitting down?
Is it worse standing up or lying down?
Have you tried over the counter anti inflammatories?
(These are all questions asked by GP, physios etc) it’s best to be prepared than ‘vague’.
It really helps when you can be specific about your symptoms. I would suggest GP first to have the back pain checked out, get decent anti inflammatories and the recommendation of a GOOD physio.
