I tested positive for coronavirus towards the end of July. I recovered and felt fine for about 2 weeks, then all of a sudden experienced severe abdominal pains followed my severe chest pain going down my arm. I keep getting fevers on and off, even night sweats and awful headaches where I feel spaced out and dizzy.
All my body aches even my bones, and I have no appetite consequently have lost a lot of weight.

Today I’ve also had nausea, migraine causing vision problems and diarrhoea :(
I’ve had a chest x ray which seems to have shown nothing causing my pain, and I’ve also had a gyno ultrasound to find cause of pain which again showed nothing. Had bloods done looking for infection etc whilst at A&E and no one can seem to help me. I’m getting really down about this as I haven’t been myself for a long time and I’m missing a lot of time off work

Please let me know your thoughts

@Ayeshaxxx It certainly sounds like long Covid, did you get any answers from the medics? Have you spoken to your GP? Please ask them these specific questions and if it’s not long Covid, then they should refer you to a specialist. Good luck.

SunbathingDragon · 04/09/2021 18:31

Sounds like it could be post viral to me (ie long covid). What is your GP’s view?

Ayeshaxxx · 04/09/2021 18:40

Gp is kind of confused to be honest.

He basically said post viral but will check back in with me in 2 weeks, only thing is since he’s seen me, I’ve been having yellow poop and really strong acid taste in my mouth aswell as everything else.
Can’t even contact him at the moment to tell him these symptoms

@Ayeshaxxx Do you normally or occasionally suffer with your stomach? I’ve recently had a positive test and it has started off my stomach problems among the other symptoms. So possibly all related, do report these new symptoms as soon as possible as it might shed some light. Yellow poop and sour taste indicates a stomach upset of sort.

TheCanyon · 04/09/2021 18:53

Yellow poo and acid taste sounds like GERD to me

Ayeshaxxx · 04/09/2021 18:56

@TheCanyon I thought this I’ve been taking omeprazole because I had suspected GERD for like 4 days earlier in the year. My only symptoms were just persistent nausea though, I’m not used to this horrid taste 24/7

@PurplePumpkinDream my digestive system has usually been okay! Only ever had pain with periods really never experienced poo problems either it’s like everything happening at once. That’s interesting so Covid started off your digestion issues? Do you have acid reflux or anything??? It’s all so confusing

@Ayeshaxxx I do have gastritis which sometimes flares up after an illness or stressful period. This time after a week of Covid symptoms, cough, fluey feeling, tiredness, which they have largely gone but left with the familiar nauseous feeling, knotted stomach and poor appetite.

mumofthemonsters808 · 04/09/2021 19:34

I had a range of strange symptoms after COVID I’d feel fine some days then boom the tight chest, aching arms, burning up would begin all over again.Or new ones would appear, sore feet, vile taste in my mouth. This lasted for about 4 weeks and it got me down too, I felt that people thought I was milking it but I genuinely felt unwell. So I suspect it’s related to the COVID, it is a very odd illness to recover from.

Ayeshaxxx · 04/09/2021 21:12

@PurplePumpkinDream I really didn’t expect to have symptoms after the 10-12 days it’s rotten isn’t it! I’m hoping Covid is what it is as at least there’s an explanation that isn’t anything too scary for me and hopefully will get better in time

@mumofthemonsters808 that’s how I feel! Like everyone thinks I’m milking it. Whenever I call in sick for work I feel like they think I’m taking the mick, and then my friends and family keep saying how annoying it is that I’m always sick lately Hmm as if I don’t know that myself

@Ayeshaxxx
Hi your not alone, I've been feeling the same! I tested positive for covid 27th October 21, never had your typical symptoms of cough and temp, but i have been suffering with the above. Stomach feels like GERD, IBS, trapped wind rolled into one and my anxiety isn't helping eitherConfused
I had bloods on Thursday Eve, so will call my useless drs Monday. How are you feeling now?

Turmerictolly · 27/11/2021 07:24

My stomach problems started post covid. Nausea, pains, weight loss as i couldn't eat. I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy and the found I had diverticulosis. I'd had a diverticular flare up. I have to make sure I eat a lot of fibre now and I'm on Omeprazole. Stress definitely brings the pains on.

LovingLanz5 · 27/11/2021 08:47

Agree with you there about stress. How long did you have to wait for your tests? I had upper right abdominal scan in January as I have niggling pains where my gallbladder used to be cam back fine but I was very low on iron which Dr said can cause abdominal pains etc. My baby has been ill since July and she has been diagnosed with a rare disease so the stress if that has really wreaked havoc on me. How is your pains now your taking omeprazole?

LovingLanz5 · 27/11/2021 08:47

Oh I haven't lost any weight.. my appetite is still as normal

craggydragon · 13/07/2022 14:09

How are you now OP and PPs? I am having similar symptoms and wondering if long covid...
