IME, ideally you should not eat anything for 24 hrs and then start with the BRAT diet. Difficult if you still feel hungry though.

Hope you get better soon

Im meant to be making soup for dd's to eat later , is that not advisable , will I spread it more that way ????

Dont know if I can go 24hrs with no food , I get the shakes bad.

Just make sure you are scrupulous about hygiene I guess.

I know what you mean about not being able to go 24hrs without food -I would struggle too.

Hopefully someone will come along with some alternative advice in a minute.

Had this last week - lots to do, so took Imodium instant. Still felt rough, but stopped the runs at least - and although I used to worry that it made the bug last longer, apparently thats cr*p

Hope you feel better soon, and good luck on Wednesday.

apparently, new guidelines say it is not necessary to stop eating, just keep it bland and keep up with immodium after bowel movements

Its carbs Ive read , but dont fancy anything much , have had 2 slices of bread with a tiny bit of marmalade for sugar. Ive lost about 5lbs !

Ive just managed to get my soups on, hope I dont start an epidemic in this house by cooking it . I dont fancy the soup much myself mind (sick) !!

I was just about to post and ask how you are - were the potatoes a bad move then? Or are you still waiting for possible the "fall-out"?

Niecie · 03/12/2007 20:22

Yes the BRAT diet is what you have when you have the runs. I don't think you need to stop eating but just be careful. Were the roasties a step too far.

Do get some Imodium though, it really helps.

melsy · 03/12/2007 21:16

lol betty , thats it, waiting to see it again !!!!!! >. Just have cramps and feel a bit bubbly.

Have my immodium capsules on hand if it starts again, havent taken any as yet. The smell of the tats is making me feel sick mind lol.

I know roast tats hey , bad move later in the night may be !!I just really didnt fancy anything BRAT diet , only have this artisan bread in as the best of both had to be thrown. Have to have marmalade on the bread as the dryness made me heave, so plain rice would be even worse. Im just so over bread right now !!

Im so hungry still !!!

Hope you were OK in the end.

I've just remembered what I had last time I was ill like you -after 24hrs of starving I had rice boiled in a vegetable stock, it was fantastic (mind you, by then I think anything would have tasted that good as I was so desperate for food!)
