I think DS's toe nail is going to fall off - what do I do?

He dropped a tub of hundreds and thousands on his big toe a month ago and got a big blood blister under the nail. It burst and seemed to improve but the nail doesn't look too great and this morning it looks like it might snap off entirely.

Do I take him to the doctor or do I just let nature take its course? Will it grow back ok?

It will grow back... this has happened to me several times and to DH too. If it does come off, just make sure he isn't wearing hard toed shoes that will damage the vulnerable nail bed while the nail is growing in.

Poor him, I sympathise!

it will grow back. This happened to me recently...only it was a biscuit tin not a tub of sprinkles, a sign from above perhaps?!

It must have been a MASSIVE tub of sprinkles!

Thanks everyone - I feel really bad for him but he doesn't seem too fussed!

TenLords - it was quite big, but I wouldn't have expected it to cause so much damage! It was the impetus I needed to get cupboard locks sorted...
