Plant thorn

So I managed to prick my index finger right in the middle knuckle 5 days a go, by a huge thorn plant (maybe blackberry plant). Instantly it hurt like hell and the knuckle became red and sore. After an hour I had lost all motion in my finger and it had become swollen & painful.
After a couple of days, I went to my local MIU & the nurse had no idea what it was. He got a needle & tried to get any remaining thorn fragments out but there was nothing. He then sent me away & said wait another week & come back if it’s not better.
I can now move my finger but can’t bend it fully. The swelling has also reduced but the knuckle is still sore and is turning purple. Every now & again I get a tingle through the finger and a feeling of warmth.
Has anyone else experienced this before? I’m not sure whether to go back or not, as it is improving but definitely isn’t better. I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. I’m also aware that plant thorns can have a lot of bacteria so don’t want it to get infected.

Go back and see them again. Have you had a recent tetanus jab, because you will need one.

I’m not sure when my last tetanus was actually. I’m guessing quite long a go if I can’t remember.

I had exactly this, last year, and was very worried after googling - saying surgery needed etc. I went to the pharmacist, who said it wasn't infected and to just see how it goes. It probably took 2 months before it went back to normal and it's fine now. So maybe just keep an eye on it, in case of infection
