What is this aching, should I be worried

For past few months I have been having this really dull ache at the front of my ribs. It's not really painful it's more and ache and uncomfortable. I don't feel like it warrants a visit to GP but the more it goes on the more worried I am getting.
I'm 38, not over weight, never smoked and do regular excersice

Does it spread outwards, to underneath your ribs? I’ve got the same thing. I’ve been told it’s excess acid but I’m not convinced as I’ve been on a PPI now for 2 months and my symptoms are still coming and going. I don’t have any symptoms like burning, gas etc. It’s just a horrible dull ache underneath and in between my ribs, that goes into my upper back. I’m currently waiting for an ultrasound to check for gallstones, as I asked them to rule it out. I think you should contact your GP as pain is an indicator that something isn’t right…
