most likely to be croup from the sounds of it - croup is a symptom not the cause so she possibly is brewing a viral infection. Keep her room humidified - put towels on the radiator. If very bad take her in to a steamy bathroom. Elevate the head end of her cot for sleeping. Hope she's better soon.

thanks weegle, she tends to suffer from viral infections alot,i'll keep my eye on her and give her a nice bath,i can make the room steamy and keep her happy at the same time

sounds like croup. try the steam, OR can try cold air, open window that often does the same trick.

yes it's croup.took dd to hospital as she was struggling a bit and they gave her a dose of steroids and they seemed to have helped

Poor little lamb. My dd1 suffers with this, although she is growing out of it at 4.6. We bought a humidifier (from John Lewis I think) and it has been the best money ever spent. We found the steamy bathroom good while it lasted, but as soon as she was back in her room, she struggled. At the first hint of the croup, we stick on the humidifier and she is fine.

i remember using a humidifier when ds1 used to have asthma.i think i gave it away though.bugger.i'll have to see about getting another.
