Breast core bisopsy

Hi
Has anyone else had a breast core biopsy. I found a lump a couple of weeks ago and had a biopsy on Tuesday. Dr thinks it will be benign which is positive but the pain I am in now is terrible!

I had three biopsies taken from the site. My breast is black with bruising and so sore. The pain is radiating up under my arm and I am still taking pain medication.

Is this amount of pain usual? If you have had a core biopsy can you reassure me that you were in this much pain too!

I am going to ring the Dr on Tuesday if it is no better but would love to hear that other people felt like this too!!!

Thanks

Hello!
I had a breast biopsy of an 'odd looking area' on my breast two years ago. I can't remember whether it was a core or fine needle (?) biopsy but i do remember it bruised and then left a small area of lumpiness under the biopsy site.

Hope your result proves to be benign :) xx

I had core biopsies done and it was as you are describing - very painful! Hopefully you get good results. I was told mine looked benign but it turned out to be Grade 3 cancer. I was 30.

Slight doommongering there 😬

You'll be fine OP

Thanks for the replies.
I am still feeling pretty rubbish today. Breast is very sore still and I feel a bit fluey so am concerned it is infected. All looks fine though. I am going to ring the GP on Tuesday if I still feel like this. At the minute I am doing very little and sleeping quite a lot!
Still waiting for the biopsy results but am not worrying about them as the doctor at hospital was very reassuring about it looking ok!
Thanks

Hardly doom-mongering, happydays.

I was repeatedly told by my consultant that it was 99% likely benign and not to worry. Turned up at the appointment and had the rug pulled from under my feet when it was cancer.

I genuinely hope your results are good OP. Just take what consultants say with a pinch of salt.

I've had core biopsies which were sore after but not the level of pain you are describing. Definitely speak to your GP tomorrow or you should have been given a number for the breast clinic so could phone them and speak to a breast care nurse. 3 out of 4 women referred to the breast clinic are for benign reasons. Be reassured that even if yours turns out to be cancer it is one of the more successful to treat.
