Canker sores

I have dealt with canker sores/mouth ulcers for many years but it's been a good three years since I regularly had them badly. I have two currently on my lower lip near the gum and Oh. My. God. The pain is making me sweat and cry, and I am finding it so hard to eat!

I’m using bonjela complete + (the liquid plaster version) which is the only thing that controls the pain for a while, but I have used it so much today I’m worried I’m overdoing it!

Anyone got any tips on how to treat/manage them, and on how to prevent/mitigate recurrence? I haven’t noticed any particular dietary triggers but I’m sure there must be some.

I find Oralmedic good of Bonjela isn't cutting it. Also even if you haven't noticed a dietary trigger try to keep an eye on what you've eaten before they flare up - took me ages to realise that 2 or 3 would crop up every time I ate pineapple.

Also, corsodyl mouthwash is good for helping with recurrent ulcers but it can stain teeth so follow the instructions on the bottle and definitely don't use it long term. I found the mouthwash particularly helpful if the ulcers were in places that were difficult to get Bonjela on!

Fantastic, thank you! I will try to remember what I ate last weekend, as that was the run up to the first ulcer. They are such bastards, aren’t they? 😰😓
