Ovarian pains - is this normal?

I had my daughter nearly 8 months ago and since then I'm a little concerned about what's happening with my periods and wonder if anyone else can relate...

I'm now starting to getting dull but pulsating pains starting from about 9/10 days before my period. Never had these before. Whilst I understand that they could be ovulation pains they seem to go on for days at a time and quite literally stop me in my tracks with how the pain feels.

The other thing that seems to be going on are symptoms very similar to a UTI in the days leading up to my period. After a spate of testing my urine by the doctor/at the lab everything seems to have come back normal. Now I'm wondering if it is also somehow related to my periods and maybe I should ask for the doctor to check my ovaries?

Any help appreciated xxx

You should get the doctor to check but since having my second child I do suffer crippling ovarian pain at ovulation, much worse than period pains. I know exactly when I'm ovulating and which side but have been checked and all fine. It's another of those glorious things women just have to put up with, apparently. Hmm
