Hi everyone,

I am really need of some advice/help.

Going on about 12 weeks now I have suffered with a rash on my neck and chest it's is extremely itchy and sore, its super dry and red. I have it around both my eyes which get super swollen with it. About 3 weeks ago it spread down to my right breast and under armpit, it's very hot to touch.

I have been seen and given 2 lots of antibiotics, antifungal creams, anti bacterial creams, antibiotic creams, emollients, moisturisers and antihistamines. Absolutely nothing has worked.

I do have another appointment booked today but I fear it's going to be a case of try another cream.

I have no history of allergies or changed anything, ie, laundry detergent, wash stuff, make up etc.

Has anyone been through anything similar or has any idea what on earth is going on. I'm so fed up feeling so sore and itchy, besides the fact it looks awful.

Thanks in advance x

Do you have any other symptoms or just the rash? Has anybody mentioned testing for possible autoimmune issues as they can cause rashes like you describe.

I'm no expert, but it sounds like eczema. You say you've tried all these creams, but it may be they weren't the right ones, not strong enough, or not used in the right combination. I developed eczema on my face and neck last year totally out of the blue. My GP initially prescribed a mild steroid cream, which worked a bit, but it came straight back with a vengeance when I stopped. They couldn't advise on skin care. Anyway to cut a long story short, I saw a dermatologist privately, who cleared it all with much stronger steroids, and I also had allergy testing which showed allergies to various things, some of which were in my face creams that I'd continued using in the beginning. So I wouldn't rule out a new allergy, I'm not an allergic type person at all, and neither is my family, and I nearly didn't bother with the patch testing, as I thought I was fine. I think an appt with a dermatologist is the way to go.
