Vagina problems/Kidney infection-what's going on :(

JennaRotersy · 24/08/2021 20:06

A few months ago I had a kidney infection that was very stubborn and took ages to clean up.
It was caused by too-rough sex.

My partner and I had sex on Friday night and again on Sunday and now I have bleeding and soreness when going to the loo.

About 4 months ago I noted I had lost sensation in my clitoris, I thought partly psychological however. I keep meaning to go to the GP about it (I had some good advice on here as I am actually quite upset about it).
Could these things be related, or something else entirely?

Have you done an STI test and pap test?

JennaRotersy · 24/08/2021 20:21

I was tested for STIs a few months back (just paranoia, I'm in a committed relationship) and all clear. Up to date with smears (is that what a PAP is)?

Yes, smear, sorry.

I would get to the GP as soon as you can.

You may need to use lube for sex.

JennaRotersy · 24/08/2021 21:34

I will ring them in the morning. Thank you. I am quite worried.

Has he had an STI check?

JennaRotersy · 24/08/2021 22:15

Yes she had one when we first got together, and I really don't think she's been unfaithful.

I'm sorry I misgender/sexed your partner.

JennaRotersy · 25/08/2021 00:22

Dont be silly, I didn't specify so I'd have probably assumed the same Smile

I was in hospital for quite a while with this as it stopped me being able to pass urine (wasn’t consented intercourse though). An mri showed I had an injury/tear to the vaginal wall which became inflamed. Needed a catheter for about two weeks so I’d get seen as soon as possible if you can! They kept fobbing me off with a uti for about 4 days which is why I think it became so bad. Feel better soon. Xx

I am sorry to hear that :( Did you lose sensitivity as well? I wonder if something has happened inside me, too. Something seems just so not right :(

I hope you're doing well now :)

Yes for a while after! When I was reading things online I’d actually read something about the clitoris being connected somehow so I assumed it was the damage that caused it. Did you get seen today? I hope so! I’m doing well now thank you 😊 hope you pick up quickly xx

How old are you OP? Reason I ask is vaginal atrophy and clitoral atrophy can happen during perimenopause. If you’re in that age group it might be an aggravating factor.

Thank you I haven't had sensation in my clitoris for a few months now, well, a bit but nothing like it used to be. Also if I think of something that would usually make me react there (eg something i find sexual like my partner touching me) nothing happens. Does that mean It's psychological? I'd normally twitch or such if that makes sense.

Anyway I got to the gp and I have another urine infection. I'd never had one before until I had the too-rough sex about 9 months ago. I wonder if it did cause a rupture of some sort :(
I can't bear the thought of never enjoying sex again. I've had an 2 long term abusive relationships in a row until I met my current one who's absolutely lovely. I want to be able to enjoy each other :(

I'm 39. I don't think It's menopause, but who knows.

When you say 'caused by rough sex,' what exactly do you mean by that? I don't want the details of course but someone being really rough etc is going to cause the issues you describe

I'll have to be totally honest, she used a strap on on me that was too big.

It was totally my fault, I know my body, I know it was too big but I was feeling so happy and loving toward her that I said/thought 'oh go on it'll be alright'. :(
Obviously full of regret now.

Some huge strap on which really hurt is going to cause soreness and bleeding. I don't really understand your post tbh ... you used something really roughly and it's caused these issues. The obvious answer is to not use it again in this way and all should resolve

JennaRotersy · 27/08/2021 07:31

What is it you don't understand please?
And yes obviously I didn't use it again afterwards. It was about 9 months ago now.
