Back pain HELP!

justustwoandmoo · 23/08/2021 20:58

I have horrible back pain in my lower back. Not all the time and I'm starting to think it might be linked to the mensural cycle but when I have it I don't know how to relieve it. It sends shooting pains down my legs and even into my ankles. Does anyone have any experience of this and have any suggestions for relieving the pain?

I'd see a physio.

My lower back pain is definitely menstrually linked but it's essentially to do with weakened muscles around the back glutes and core.

The hormones in your cycle can make any weakness worse through inflammation.

Pilates is also really good. Dull, but good.

Something like eve primrose, omega 3 and vitamin e may help ease the inflammation around cycles.

It sounds a bit like sciatica. I would see you GP for effective pain relief.

This sounds like sciatica. Could be caused by a bulging disc. Your GP can give you stronger pain relief than you get over the counter. I see a good physio when mine flares up; he actively treats my back snd has shown me stretches and exercises to keep it healthy. Those Velcro heat packs for backs are also good for pain relief: has to be the sort that wrap round and Velcro, the stick on ones are useless.
