update on shoppingbags' ds - finally a diagnosis

You may remember we had a scary time back in July when he was operated on for suspected lymphoma. We were really lucky and he was all clear but they couldn't tell us at the time what had caused his huge lumps. Had a follow up appointment this week and the consultant says that they now have all reports in and having exhausted all other possibilities the diagnosis is of Atypical TB. Several mumsnetters suggested this at the time, so I thought you might like to hear the final outcome...

he is totally fine now. Really within a week of the operation he was back to his normal self and the doctor says there's no reason to think he'll get it again. We are just so lucky. Good old dh is running the London marathon next Easter to raise money for the other families we saw at Addenbrookes whose babies are really poorly as a kind of "thank you universe"
