I started having a little bit of upset tummy a few days ago but since Wednesday I have been having diarrhoea every half an hour. Now passing just yellow water. I’m still peeing ok as have been sipping diaroltye but I’m feeling very shaken now. Will call GP later. I’m terrified I will have to go into hospital. What will GP suggest? I’m taking sertraline so don’t think I can take Imodium?

He might suggest that you provide a sample. My son and I both had severe diarrhoea a few years ago and it turned out we both had campylobacter. It took a few weeks to get over it but neither of us needed to go to hospital. We kept hydrated and we ate very bland food until we could see changes in our poo and felt better.

Thanks @BasilandParsley. I’ve never really had diarrhoea before so this is terrifying me. We’re you going every 30’minutes or so?

It was a good few years ago so not exactly sure how often but it was very unpleasant and very frequent. I would say don’t take anything like Imodium until you have spoken with G.P because if might be a case of having to let nature take it’s course.
Try not to worry and hope you feel better soon. Smile

Thanks again BasilandParsley. My dr called wasn’t very interested and said hopefully be better by Sunday. I am so washed out and going every mins or so now. Surely I can’t go on like this until Sunday??

Poor you, it really sucks.
I would suggest plenty of water
Bland diet (toast, rice with carrots, blueberries can help a bit).
Avoid dairy
Try charcoal capsules (Holland&Barret?).
It's a bit worrying that it's more than 48 hrs so see what happens in next 24,if no change contact GP again.
