So long story short ....
Bowel issues...colonoscopy = found polyp couldn't remove then 9 days later removed via stigmoidoscopy not cancer phew!! Forgot about the colonoscopy embarrassment and liquid urinal block you drink!!
So two months on they ring and say I need another ? Eh I had 2 two months ago surely not??
Yep we have checked you need another consultant wrote to you telling you why you have to as it was a true poloyp of the colon ?

I mean I thought I'd at least have 2 years or something!! 38yrs so know I'd have to have extra checks but was told it would be 3 yearly!!
I'm sure it's an communication/administration error surely but when asked they just keep saying as its a true poloyp of the colon I need it?? But I've had one then a half?

Confused!!!

Similar here. Had numerous colonoscopies, well three in rather quick succession. They could see from CT that something was going on. Anyway, got ten big ugly motherfn polyps removed by the fourth colonoscopy. Great endoscopist, and all clear thankfully.

Was admitted a few weeks later with something else, oh woe is me! More CT/MRI and they have now say I have numerous small polyps in the small bowel. Dunno why they didn't see them originally. Not sure what's happening next. Seeing Gastro guy soon so if I remember I will update.

More flippin Movi prep, my insides must be cleaner than my counter tops at this stage!

Best of luck and if you hear anything further, please update, it might calm me down a bit.

Hey! I’ve had a colonoscopy today and a polyp has been found but was in an awkward place to remove it so got to go back for them to take it out on another date. Anywhoo, I’m 33 and have got myself very worked up about the thought of having a polyp as the doc implied I’m quite young to have a polyp. Do I need to worry? Is this common (don’t want to consult Dr Google!). Not clear what type of polyp it is but feeling rubbish. Had quite a few health things going on recently and feel like this is just another thing to be monitored!!! Any words of wisdom are welcomed’ Smile Xx

Hi, so my poloyp removal was really easy and quick I felt although I had to like you ho back the worst part was the laxative!!
Mine athey eventually agreed I wouldn't need another 3rd one so quickly and it was a mistake!! So I now will have checks every 3 years ....I'm 38 although what I actually went for hasn't ever resolved still have issues with desperate need to go etc etc ...but hate to go back to Dr over it as feel its a waste of time

Thanks for your response. I think them finding our polyps was probably incidental and I suppose it’s good we are going to be checked (even though the laxatives/ procedure isn’t at all pleasant!!!). Just worried as I never thought they’d find a polyp because I am young. Ah well, thanks again for replying and I hope you’re feeling okay. You must always pester the GP if you aren’t feeling well! X
