Itchy dry skin in my ears..

Anyone had this/solved it?

TBH I've had this for years, where my ears tend to get a bit itchy, and I pick at them, and find loads of dry skin comes out.

Id doesn't smell, bleed or anything like that, and is such a minor thing that I just forget to mention it on those odd occasions when I go o the DR for something else.

Sounds like eczema. You can get drops or a spray from the doctor, but it is likely to recur. If it doesn't bother you too much, I wouldn't worry, although probably get it diagnosed at the Doctors anyway.

but why would I get eczema only in my ears? I don't suffer from any other skin probs

No idea. Swimming? Reaction to a shampoo that might come into contact with your ears? Reaction to picking at it making the skin a bit sensitive?

I get this too. Could be just not drying ears after showering. A few drops of olive oil on some cotton wool should sort it out - NO PICKING!

I have it too and the doc said it is otitis externa - so infection of the outer ear. She gave me some antibiotic and antifungal drops to clear it up, but (as she told me would happen) it always comes back. She told me to wear swimming ear plugs in the shower and to dry off the outer ear with a hairdryer, but TBH it still comes back.
