Hi all, I'm 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant the furthest I've ever been along in my pregnancies 😁 but since 5 weeks untill now I have been on 2 lots of antibiotics due to swollen inflamed gums. There is a tooth that needs to come out as this is the cause I need it out has anyone had a tooth out in the 1st trimester. I'm so nervous and scared just worried about baby 😔 thank you x

Hi OP, firstly congratulations on the pregnancy! I had my two upper wisdom teeth out (4 weeks apart) in my second trimester. No issues at all with anaesthetic. What tooth is giving you bother? I'm sure you know this, but warm salty mouthwashes and alcohol free corsodyl are good at reducing inflammation/infection too. I used both when I was having issues in my last pregnancy.

Hey thanks for the reply so its my upper left and it's given swollen gums but on my gums there are yellow spots. I've finished the antibiotics now but the tooth is giving me so much pain I just need it out. I've been using salt water everyday. It all started as soon as I found I was pregnant as my teeth were fine before. I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow but I just can't wait it out any longer its been going on since I was 4 weeks x

I had so many issues with my teeth/gums in pregnancy too. Still suffering 9 months post partum! Do you mean upper left wisdom tooth? Normally they are quite easy to remove. Mine came out in less than 10seconds (literally). I had a lot of xrays i pregnancy too, a few small ones then a bigger xray too. Some dentists may be reluctant to x ray but mine assured me the risk was basically zero with regards to radiation. He told me there's more radiation on a flight to Spain. I would definitely recommend going back to the dentist and requesting they remove it. The ideal time to do dental work is the second trimester but I'm sure your dentist will weigh up the pros and cons of doing it before that.

I have no wisdom teeth left they have been removed this is just a normal tooth im going in the morning tomorrow so I'm hoping he will take it out after being on 2 lots of antibiotics. I'm nervous about it but would love to be out of pain I've never experienced swollen gums before it is so painful I hope that this is the last of it. I'm sorry your still going through it hopefully you will get better soon
