Hi all,
Our 3-month-old baby has subcoronal hypospadias with a hooded foreskin. We were told by the surgeon to wait until he's 1 year old to make a decision and that it's one of the most delicate urology surgeries with the highest risks. He seemed to be against performing it if there isn't an obvious functional issue. This surgeon was quite young.
We would like to ask for a second opinion if possible with someone with more experience. I read that the surgery is more common than what he implied and that the choice of surgeon is key. Can we even get a second referral with the NHS or would we need to go private?
Would you have any recommendation of surgeon operating with the NHS?
Thank you
