Hi, I am six months pregnant and have SPD for a month, getting progessively worse. I'm now on crutches with a pelvis support; doctor gave me Codiene, but i did my own research and general advice says i shouldnt take it during the last trimester. (i've generally had a nightmare with getting help for this whole thing). Paracetmol doesnt even start to help. can anyone make any recommendations? thanks very much

Hello all - reviving this. I'm just so fed up with it. Clunk, clunk, clunk, every time I move. It's so hard not to feel like I'm doing permanent damage every time I move. How on earth am I supposed to handle a 2 year old?? I can barely get myself to the loo.

Scampmum,

I can totally sympathise with you. The pain is almost unbearable.

How far along are you?

Even now (ds2 is 3) i am still in pain, but no where near as bad as before.

33+1 so at least not too far to go. Has been since November but only this bad in the last month or so. Probably aggravated it at the beginning by trying to keep on e.g. picking up DD from nursery on foot and walking up the hill home pushing the buggy (which just seems like a distant dream now - no way can I walk, let alone uphill, let alone pushing a buggy!).

Good to know there are others out there. Still crossing my fingers that it disappears after the birth. Feeling like a really bad mum, though - I can barely even get DD dressed let alone get down to the floor to play with her, take her for walks etc. Thank god for DH. 7 weeks seems like a really long time right now!

Thanks for listening!

Scamp,

7wks will fly. I had spd from around 16wks with ds2 - i fell preg when ds1 was 3months old - and for the last 4 motnhs of the preg i couldnt physically lift my baby out of his cot without crying in pain. we sat together with toys around us in the afternoon - not doing alot at all. but we got through it. the relief was immense when ds2 was born - i felt like a new person. pushing a dbl buggy prob didnt help my recovery - but mine is a quite severe case, alot fo times things will jsut improve slowly and then completly, so dont worry, i am sure you will be fine once your baby is here.

xxx
