My DS (3) sweats buckets when he first falls asleep. Then after a change of pillowcase and pyjama top, it usually settles down after an hours or two....this is in summer or winter. Anyone elses child do this?

Yup. 8mo DD also sweats buckets. we've done all the "too many clothes?" "room too hot?" checks and have concluded that she is Just Sweaty. Like her dad.

She's generally a bit of a hot little thing, and we're always getting filthy looks from matrons of a certain age when we dare to take her out without a hat.

yeah.... We've done all that too. kind of worrying when you google it though....

Yep DS1 sweats and it is horrid, I change his bed and the pillow has to go in with the pillow case and sheet because the pillow has tide marks on it! I asked our GP about it and she said if he was otherwise totally healthy not to worry about it just make sure he drinks lots during the day so he doesn't get dehydrated.

dd1 sweats a fair amount when she first goes to bed, too - she's nearly 4. Mostly, she gets a sweaty little head, but can be all over - cools down later in the night, though.

My ds is another sweaty betty. I do go up and untangle him from his covers most nights but he always curls straight back up agin. Doesn't seem to cause him any problems though and I've never changed his clothes - I just think that's how he is (he's eight). I usually open his window so that I know he won't overheat too dramatically.

gecko is the first child I have ever known to sweat soooo much
the minute she falls asleep her head is covered in a sheen of the stuff thick enough to wash something in it.....hmmm niiiiiice

yep ds2. Now aged almost 6, always has.

Snowmam2Jamie · 29/11/2007 23:19

I have 2 sweaty children. DS1 is 6 and healthy by sweats quite a bit after falling asleep. DS2 has a heart condition and it is not unusual for them to sweat because of that. Strangely enough ds2 sweats no where near as much as ds1
