What is causing body shudders and nausea?

Probably not an actual definition but I am having these tonight. It is mostly my head and upper body that just goes into involuntary shudders or twitches every 10 minutes or so and a low level feeling of nausea? This is something I heve experienced at infrequent intervals my whole life. I don't often feel sick so notice it when I do but I am never actually sick. Usually when it is over I forget about it but am wondering if anyone here recognising the symptoms and should I tell the doctor?

Thanks for replying ,hashbrownsandwich, but why do you say that? I mean it is something I have had occasionally for over 40 years, I could put it down to bad sleeping habits, I have been up till this time for weeks and I think it has been the same in the past, it generally subsides after a couple of hours as it is doing now.
