my dd has had this to, have you been drinking your dyrolite after every loose motion.

floo · 29/11/2007 11:24

sorry, I meant this is happening to dd (age 13) at the moment as well. She has been of since a week monday and is petrified at the thought of all the homework.

Woder if the bread and biscuits you are eating are acting as an irritant to your gut - will be somewhat tenderised after 2 weeks!! Could you try somethng rice based/ corn/ ryvita/ still bland but not wheat. (Remember reading somehwere that wheat was irritant...) failing this helping, do you actually feel ill with it - maybe its something bacterial rather than viral and a quick trip to dr mught give you something to sort it - its so tiring and i'm sure the dcs needs havent stopped when youve been ill so youre probably knackered which in turn will delay your recovery.

I would go and get it checked out at the Drs again. two weeks seems like a long time for just a bug.

Have you been given all the diohorrea stuff like Dioralyte to rehydrate, and Loperamide to bung you up? It really is worth going back to the doc. It's so important to keep hydrated, but it's miserable feeling as though you are draining away. I lost nearly a stone very very quickly. Yuck!

You could try some acidophilus tablets from Health food stores or possibly Boots. Puts back the good flora in your gut, gets evrything back in balance.

A friend's dh is a medic and he says actimel/yakult etc are a waste of time but acidophilus does work.
