Silly question I know, but here goes. 22yo daughter messaged me from NZ asking me if its a good idea to strap a bruised knee, her knee is quite bruised from a hockey game last week (hockey ball to the knee), and she's somehow aggrevigated this week. She's playing again in a few hours and its really sore.

I'm sure you can in theory, but she'd be much better off resting it I would've thought.

Rest Ice Compression (that's the strapping) Elevation

Ibuprofen for the swelling, too.

If she's sure it's just a soft tissue bruise and she's made of tough stuff, get her to strap it and see how it feels.

If there's a possibility of a more serious structural injury or she's struggling to walk on it and doesn't have freedom of movement she'd be better not playing.
