Nc for this one.
Symptoms started end of May.

Sharp pains in sternum area.
Bloating (random but daily)
Tiredness
Pain in back under ribs (right hand side). Both sharp pains and throbbing
Nausea after eating
Pain in shoulder
Today...a stingy, red raised rash/blisters

I'm struggling to look after my kids and am exhausted. I'm taking omazrepol twice a day and have been for about 5 weeks. Plus regular gaviscon. It has helped the stomach pain to an extent.

Gp requested a scan within 2-4 weeks but I still haven't been allocated an appointment. Spoke to gp last week and he is fuming I haven't been seen.

I'm miserable and desperate

Sounds like gallstones to me, although not sure on the rash. Maybe you have shingles as well?

AbsolutelyPatsy · 03/08/2021 13:18

do you do a food diary?

ActonSquirrel · 03/08/2021 13:31

I can't put a label on a constellation of symptoms I'm afraid.

The scan will have to do it. Flowers

AbsolutelyPatsy · 03/08/2021 13:43

what is happening with the rash?

Notsurenow43 · 03/08/2021 14:58

The rash stings. Properly stings. It's on my breast and nipple. I think it's also coming out under my arm as that stings but I can't see anything yet.

I'm so desperate for this scan Sad

Sorry you're feeling like this.

"Sharp pains in sternum area.

I had exactly the same with gallstones attack. Does the pain come on more if you eat fatty food? Maybe you could try drinking as much water as you can and stay away from high fat foods to see if that helps.

The rash however, not sure. Could be unrelated? Heat? Stress?

I hope you're seen soon.

Notsurenow43 · 03/08/2021 15:00

I take note of the food I eat, although not written. Symptom seem worse after a proper meal. Rice I really struggle to tolerate. Symptoms are worse after junk food. Gluten doesn't seem to be a specific trigger. I'm dairy free anyway

The rash sounds like it might be shingles.

Notsurenow43 · 05/08/2021 20:54

Diagnosed with shingles. I'm proper miserable today Sad

Ugh poor you OP. I've had shingles and it's shite. You're probably run down from all the other symptoms?

The other symptoms do sound like gallstones which can be easily seen on an ultrasound. You will probably need to eliminate fat from your diet to prevent flare ups, if this is what is diagnosed. Stay away from the junk food!

Fadeout83 · 07/08/2021 04:08

Shingles are the worst. I assume they’ve put you on anti virals pronto? The sooner the better to avoid the nasty post herpetic neuralgia.

LoveFall · 07/08/2021 05:23

I was going to say shingles. DH has it right now. Early signs were pains on one side of his back and side. Fever and headache. That lasted a few days then rash, just on his side.

He was prescribed anti virals. He seems better.

I hope you feel better soon.

Notsurenow43 · 07/08/2021 06:21

Yep I'm taking antivirals- 5 tablets a day. I am feeling brighter actually which is nice.

I cant believe a rash like this is so painful. That's really surprised me. Saying that, my actual nipple has blistered so that's bound to hurt

Horrible stuff. Wishing you a speedy recovery! You may want to consider the shingles vaccine once you’re healed (I think there is a six month wait time since your breakout). It’s usually reserved for over 60s but it’s increasingly a younger persons illness
SusieSusieSoo · 07/08/2021 11:11

Sympathies with the shingles op I hope you feel better soon.

If it is gallstones and you can get hold of a copy of Rosemary Conley's hip & thigh diet book (published very early 90's) she avoided surgery by changing her diet.
