DENPLAN - any good?

Don't have the best gums. Need sixth monthly check ups and now hygienist appointments. Dentist says my swollen but receding gums are holding my teeth in!
Should I go down the Denplan route? I don't know anyone who bothers.

what would you get from the denplan route and how much would it cost compared to what you're paying now

I used to have corporate Denplan membership which i think was discounted rates. I took it out because i couldn't get in an NHS dentist when I moved house but I cancelled it a couple of years ago but it wasn't value for money for me.......if you need treatment and go privately then it was cost effective but you need to check what's covered as there were different levels of membership and I seem to recall needing one of the top ones to cover the majority of costs. For me, just doing 2 check ups and 2 hygienist visits a year I was as cheap doing "pay as you go" with the dentist but I dropped it because i managed to get in at an NHS Practice.
I guess it's like any insurance, it's worthwhile when you really need to use it but costly if you don't.
