Purging or irritation? Acne

So I was prescribed epiduo for mild acne a few days ago it's something that I've had for years and is a lot bette than it has ever been but I was still super insecure, I have tried everything else there is to try so I'm hoping this will do the trick
The first photo is from 3 days ago before using the gel and this is 3 days on the gel I was told to expect redness and inflammation.

It does irritate the skin.

Did the GP advise you to use it maybe every other day at first? That might be a good idea. It is very drying so expect redness and flaking until your skin tolerates it.

@Libertynan hiya it's getting so much better now I think it was just a bit irritated but the redness and burning has mostly subsided x

Ah - that sounds promising then.

It's a tricky balance trying to find the right products - I still have some skin issues in my 50s - so use Epiduo once or twice per week just to keep it all okay.

Make sure you use a good facial SPF too as it will make your skin super sensitive to the sun.
