Drooling at night

Okay so this is a little embarrasing. I am 30, my dad died suddenly 4 months ago. I was prescribed sleeping tablets, zopiclone, I think and I took 2 out of the 5 prescribed because I was warned about addiction and the side affects were pretty bad.

Anyway I have never woken up and noticed I'd been drooling before, but when I took the tablets both times I woke with a lot of drool. And since then, about 3 or 4 times a week (at least) I have woken up with drool on my pillow.

This is weird right? Its certainly inconvenient but doesn't seem worth going to the doctor for, and do t know if they would be able to do anything anyway.

I always know Ive had a really deep sleep if I’ve been drooling. Usually I toss & turn half the night so it doesn’t happen. Maybe you’ve suddenly started sleeping deeper or in a different position. I’m sorry for your loss Flowers

The most common cause of drooling while you sleep is so straightforward, you might never have thought of it — and it has to do with gravity. The position that you sleep in often leads to drool pooling inside your mouth. People who sleep on their side, or on their stomach, are more likely to drool when they sleep

I do it too. It’s who we are. People fart in bed too

Thank you. I don't think my sleep habits have changed but maybe you're right!
