What might a dentist need to do? Advice needed!

Last night what I think is part of one of my lower front teeth just came off. I had some dental concrete left behind them from braces years ago but I’m fairly sure it’s a small bit of tooth. No trauma, no idea why.

We moved a awhile ago and I’ve been really crap and not seen the dentist, but I need to go. Just looking at price lists (all private treatment) the local dentists’ prices vary and some cost more for some things and less for others.

Can anyone tell me what treatment might actually be done so I can work out where to head?! It’s a lower front tooth and the side appears to have detached, and I could see a small amount of dark material in what chipped off. It feels a bit sensitive if I really probe. Is this crown time? The teeth are very crowded down there so I’m slightly worried we’re talking extraction. Or might the mysterious (and cheap) fissure repair be a potential option?

Any advice welcome!

If it’s a small amount of damage a simple composite repair should be offered. I would try and avoid a crown on a lower incisor since they are small teeth and the amount of healthy tooth that will need removing to accommodate crown will weaken it further.
Modern composite materials are amazing.
