Anyone else still have painful c section scar 10 mths afterwards?

Well actually it's less the scar itself and more the area of skin just above it that is still v sore to touch - even a gentle touch, if it's pulling at the skin, is really quite painful. Anyone else experience this? Even after 10 months? Does it go away or is this for life?

I had an op to remove fibroids in March 2005..prob slightly bigger op than a section..and I am still slightly tender above the scar

..and also swell up above the scar all the time

Thanks GF and have you seen anyone about it/ been told it's normal?

I see the gynaecologist all the time, they have never thought anything of it, so I just live with it...actually have an appointment in January so might ask about it again then!

Mine still generally irritates and feels funny 8 years later!

Mine isn't painful as such but gets very itchy, verging on painful, and is still raised and pink 15 months on. Could be because they cut through the nerves? I would mention it to the gp, especially if it's bothering you daily and stopping you getting on with things.

Jack is also my baby!

I think it is fairly unusual for it to be painful after this length of time - I would get it checked out by your gp - you never know, they might be able to fix it!

Thanks all, hmm maybe will go to GP - last mentioned it at my PN checkup and she said it was because the c section was done in such an emergency that they would not have been v gentle with the cutting / pulling back of all the skin etc (yuk!). It's not really that bad and it's certainly not stopping me getting on with normal life etc but just enough to be noticeable and annoying.
