5 days pain post root canal

Just had a root canal on a front incisor last Tuesday. Done by an Endodontics Straightforward I'm told, the tooth was irreversibly irritated rather than seriously infected. 5 days on and I'm in considerable discomfort - throbbing around the tooth, sore at the injection site (can see a mark here too), just a lot of general spontaneous discomfort. I understood that it should all feel settled by 3-4 days or at least improving each day.
I have had shingles on that side of my mouth a few years ago.
I'm starting to feel a bit worried - what could this be? Is it normal to be so uncomfortable over 5 days since it was done? I've been taking neurofen but it's not helping.
