Hello,

I’m looking for a gynae that specialises in fibroids and endometriosis in London please. There are loads to choose from but I’m after a personal recommendation.

So far I’ve come across the following who looked good to me:

Mr Erhan Saridogan
Mr Adrian Lower
Mr Alfred Cutner

Some background - I have multiple fibroids, the largest is 8.4cm which Needs to be removed. NHS only offering me myomectomy which is very intrusive, more risky and high recovery time. First the gynae said key hole surgery is not available because it’s large then I told her that I’ve researched online and even larger ones then mine were done via key hole surgery to which she said it not done on the NHS but some private places do it.

I’ve come home and done further research and there are loads of specialists that offer key hole up to 15cm!! Total bloody BS of NHS to only offer the major surgery route. Anyway glad I have private and can explore the other route.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr Adam Rodin who is based at the Hendon Garden Hospital (private) and Barnet Hospital (NHS). He's brilliant. PM me if you want more details.

Mr David Ogutu at the Cavell hospital in Enfield. I didn't have treatment for fibroids, but for endometriosis. Excellent keyhole gynaecologist surgeon.

I dont have any recommendations as I had my fibroids removed under the NHS. The largest was originally approx 10cm but the NHS gave me monthly injections for 6months which made them shrink, enabling them to be removed via Laprascopic Myemectomy.

It wasn't as intrusive as the alternative - a hysterectomy.
The injections also stopped my periods which was AMAZING. Sorry I cannot remember the name of the drug.

Good luck

Oh I recognise that name! I had my DD at Barnet and saw him at one my consultations. I had a caesarean and really wanted Dr Rodin but he only did Tuesdays and I was 39 weeks on the Wednesday. They wouldn’t move me one day closer!! so bloody inflexible.

Anyway I didn’t realise he specialised in fibroids. Will look into it thanks Wink

Tariq Miskry - without question. He’s absolutely brilliant. Think he’s in Harley St and the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s

Hi mumtobeinsept, hope all went well!! Can you tell me who you decided on and how it all went. I came across your post while looking for the same for myself. I have fiberoids of 9cm that the NHS said they can't help with as it's too big! I'm looking for someone private to help!!

@Ghat55 I went with Mr Saridogan and he was excellent. I would really recommend him. I had the large fibroid and multiple others removed via laparoscopic surgery. I was in hospital 2 nights but to be honest I think one was enough.
2 years on I can barely even see the scars.

I've had a C section and compare to that this was a walk in the park!

Good luck xx
