Is this a Lyme disease symptom?

This is a rash on DS (17)‘s leg. It is where he was bitten by a tick about a month ago. He does a lot of outdoor activities, and we get so many, usually it’s just remove and forget about it. Initially just thought it was irritation, but it doesn’t seem to be going away.

He has no other symptoms, and it’s not particularly circular, so unsure. He has a GP appt. later today. Thought I’d see what others opinions are beforehand, as I know it’s not a particularly well understood disease among some GPs, and don’t want him to be fobbed off.

Hard to tell. My husband was
Treated for Lyme disease but it wAs a bullseye type bite. He was given prophylactic antibiotics as they said by the time the results came back it would be a bit late. To me it looks a bit red so

Yes, GP said it was likely to be an infection given there are no other symptoms, and isn’t typical of a Lyme rash. Prescribed antibiotics.

Looks like a razor rash to me.

Is it spreading out? If he was definitely bitten by a tick and that rash is a result of it I would be trying to get him on antibiotics as soon as possible as it looks more than just a local infection around the bite.

I have attached a photo of the rash I got when bitten by a tick. It only shows a very faint bullseye but until the antibiotics kicked in was spreading around 2cm a day. I am currently on a 17 day course of antibiotics and waiting for test results although I understand the blood test is often a false negative.
