Possible Giardiasis?

Almost a month ago I had a horrible stomach bug lasting 3 days. Lots of urgency with diarrhoea, stomach cramps etc. I think I went 16 times alone on the Saturday. I also had a lot of burping (I very rarely burp) and burping stomach.

It seemed to get better after that but since them I’ve had urgency most days, diarrhoea that comes and goes for no reason, an incredible amount of smelly wind (like eggs) and the same with burps. They are happening a lot and smell like eggs. I have never suffered with burping or wind and since that stomach bug seem to have both.

Anyone else experienced similar? I fondly googled it this morning as it’s making things difficult when leaving the house etc if I have a relapse and Giardiasis seems like a possibility.

Anyone had similar? What was it and how did you get rid of it?

You need the doctor to test your stool and then you take meds.

I have, symptoms are yellow, foamy, foul smelling diarrhoea with extreme stomach cramps. Burping and farting smelling of rotten eggs is also symptomatic. The smell is so bad that it will clear a room of people! It's caused by a parasite, usually picked up from infected water/poor hand hygiene.

You need to see a dr, and get anti parasitic medicine such as flagyl (metronidazole). It's contagious, so hand and bathroom hygiene is essential. I'd call 111 and get an appt ASAP.
