Supplements for sore boobs before period

I get very sore boobs for about 2 weeks before my period. I'm so fed up of it - they're very painful, I can't sleep on my front, running hurts, and wearing even the loosest crop top is uncomfortable.

I've already tried:

  • Angus Castus (no effect whatsoever)
  • B6 - for the first 3 months, it worked amazingly - boobs only slightly tender for about 6 days before period, but now, 6 months on, it's back to how it was before
  • Magnesium glycinate - I've been taking this for a month alongside B6 and haven't noticed much difference. I'm also confused about which supplement I should be taking as there are so many.

Is there something I'm missing? I'm so fed up of living with this discomfort for 2 out of every 4 weeks. I've been to the Dr and he just suggested painkillers, but it's not sustainable for this long.

Have you tried Evening Primrose Oil or Starflower Oil? A bit of basic but useful info here

Recommended to me many years ago by a consultant at a breast clinic. Worked brilliantly. Definitely worth a try.

Following as I’m the same OP. Tearing my hair out now, so painful and sore

Same! Haven’t tried anything as yet, so following with interest…

I found Evening Primrose Oil capsules helped with this.

Just make sure that if you are on prescribed meds, that nothing clashes with what you are taking.

I've just ordered evening primrose oil from Holland and Barrett yesterday for this very reason. My boobs are so painful this month and I've had enough of it. Fingers crossed for some relief.

Starflower oil helped me, I was also recommended it by a breast clinic consultant.

Thank you - I'll try Evening Primrose first, then Starflower! Surely one of them will work!!

No need to try both! If EPO doesn't work, starflower won't either. It's all about the GLA content. Starflower has a slightly higher GLA.

Endeavormorse · 19/07/2021 13:46

I use starflower oil, it definitely helps.

I've got this, terribly at the moment. Sleeping is so uncomfortable. I must get some evening primrose oil ASAP.
