right I thought Gecko had nappy rash but was quite bad looking. Then the last day or so I have thought her tongue looked funny and she keeps trying to scratch it. she is also trying to scratch at her nappy rash wish she has never done whenever she has had a little bit of nappy rash before.

so whats going on, does it sound like thrush, what do I do????

never had a child with it

If it is red and bumpy and normal nappy rash doesn't clear it up, it is likely to be thrush.

Get some canestan from the chemist - make sure you tell them that it is for a baby as they come in different strengths, a couple of applications should see it getting better and in a couple of days she will be right as rain.

If canestan doesn't work, it isn't thrush.

btw - it may not look bumpy, but if you run your fingers lightly over it, it will feel bumpy.

morning Trinity. DS had thrush when he was smaller, HV prescribed Nystatin which did the trick. He only had it on his tongue though, not in his nappy area.

Trip down to the GP needed I think

Is the rash red and shiny looking ? Try some daktarin cream on her bum ..if it's thrush it will work.If it is thrush in her mouth it will be white spots , which when removed have a raw patch underneath.......daktarin gel works for this.....hth ??

(normal nappy rash cream I should have said)

right well, she has viral conjunctivitus, a stinking cold and bad nappy rash but not thrush

so we have bought some more sudacrem and are bathing eyes as we were because they can't do anything for a virul thingy

just thought I'd let you know, she is ok, very snoty, slightly clingy but fine
