Stupid injuries

So I was driving on the school run, changed from 2nd to 3rd gear and felt a pain in my finger. During the evening, it swelled up and went black and couldn't really move it. Got it checked and it is sprained. How is it even possible to sprain it by changing gears? What a stupid way to get an injury!

I have mentioned this on here before .
Many years ago while working at a stables when bring the straw and hay in ( we grew our own ) to store it we stacked it in the barn as you put a layer down you stand on it to put the next layer down and so on .
When it starts getting high we use a huge elevator , thats a bit like a movable escalator but with out the steps.

So you tend to get very high with out really realising it and because you have to be very carful where you put your feet so you dont catch you toe on the baling twin or put your foot between the bales and sink instantly to your knee / groin you dont rally look where you are going.

Or at least I dont , i walked smack bang into a rafter and knocked myself out cold , ambulance and everything Blush

I poked my self in the eye with a handbag. Not the corner, the main bit was bulging enough to poke my eye!

Years ago I stood on my straighteners and burnt my foot - this was a few days after I'd got badly sunburnt and my shoulders were covered in huge blisters. Not a good week!

My husband knocked a piece of his front tooth out with a hammer; he's a geologist and was examining the rock he'd just hit... without putting the hammer down first.

I got a needle stuck in my foot after dropping it on the floor when sewing a d standing up to look for it and sliding my foot over and around it while doing so
Also split my head open on a water slide like a ripe peach
