Worried about mri results

Goblin86 · 11/07/2021 19:14

After a year or so with ongoing symptoms of headaches and migraines. Vision problems (not all of the time) I get auras and spotty vision, changes in peripheral vision, I'm feeling very weak and tired and loosing weight im now underweight. Past month I've been feeling off balance and clumsy, when I talk to people I know what I'm going to say but the sentence is either in wrong order or a few words are slurred or mispronounced. I was sent for an mri, im so agitated about the results I'm hoping they have some news for me tomorrow. I'm so worried, does anyone else have the same symptoms that may shed some light?

Parkinson's?

Goblin86 · 11/07/2021 19:25

I've never thought of parkinsons, I thought general symptoms were tremors and shaking which I don't have but I'll have a look

@Goblin86 i just wanted to wish you luck with your results Thanks

I hope youre able to get some answers and start feeling better soon.

Im in a similar position in terms of waiting for tests and results so i understand how worrying and frustrating the wait can be - hang in there - youll get some answers soon xx

GordonPym · 12/07/2021 01:02

Clumsiness could be a sign of MS. Or have you done blood for the neurological symptoms such as B12 or Omega 3 index?

I hope your get the results very soon.

malteserheist · 12/07/2021 01:15

I hope your results come through soon so you know what you are or are not facing.

Ingloriousbasterd · 12/07/2021 09:17

I had clumsiness, fatigue, constant headache and felt like I was talking slowly iykwim ? started taking b12 and it did stop x

Mischance · 12/07/2021 09:39

I hope that the results are good ones. I have similar problems and no-one seems to know the cause. I do have a 2cm diameter "blob" in my brain that was found at MRI, but it is benign and could be arising from the skull bone. They just keep an eye on it every 6 months; and do not think it is related to symptoms.

I do understand how disturbing these symptoms can be - they also suggested it might be vestibular migraine.

Goblin86 · 12/07/2021 22:54

Just thought I'd update, doctor has told me the results were sent to neurology for further assessment, have no results to share until then. I'm feeling a bit sick thinking they may have found something

Just wanted to say good luck with the results OP. Fingers crossed for you.

OP my DD had many of the symptoms you describe - ocular migraines, weight loss, tiredness, loss of feeling in limbs. She had undiagnosed Coeliac Disease which had caused so many problems. Like a PP says, Vitamin B12 and iron stores were extremely low. She had a MRI scan and electrical tests with Neurology. Everything resolved after stopping eating gluten. Do you have any stomach problems?

Goblin86 · 13/07/2021 11:17

@Coatandhat hi, before I had this scan I had 2 blood tests, both showed high rbc, low iron. I don't have stomach or digestion problems. Although I am worried about all the weight loss as I can eat like a horse. They tested thyroid and was functioning well

Coatandhat · 13/07/2021 19:45

I'm surprised they're not investigating the blood test results further Goblin. I know it's not very helpful but some of DD's symptoms were a result of anxiety over the cause - she didn't know what was wrong and turned to Google and it became a vicious circle. I hope that you can manage not to worry too much. Good luck Flowers

Kittenss · 18/07/2021 17:05

@Goblin86 did you get your results yet?

Borntobeamum · 19/07/2021 10:55

You'd do better to phone the neuro consultant's secretary. Hospital switchboard should be able to give you the number.

wonderpants · 20/07/2021 07:49

I had similar and was convinced I was going to go down the route of MS diagnosis.
I was diagnosed with migraine and vertigo.

Borntobeamum · 23/07/2021 15:46

Any news yet? X

MyFavouriteIsland · 09/08/2021 14:02
